I really like this Ted Talk because it talks about the digital divide on a global scale. I think it’s easy to forget that the Digital Divide transcends borders. It wouldn’t be fair to say that the digital divide that exists in the U.S. is any worse or better than the divide in Asia and Africa, but I think it’s important to remember that this is a global problem that potentially requires a global solution.
I think it’s great that he addresses the carbon footprint of technology because e-waste is not talked about enough.I like the point that Molinari makes that the Internet should be a right. I also like the idea of the community technology centres because learning takes place through communication of knowledge from one person to another. Additionally, he recognises that giving people access to technology is not enough but rather, we must teach people how to use technology.
